Kicking off the new year often prompts me to give my home a thorough cleaning. This made me think of sharing a review on a cleaning product from Blueland.
A Greener Approach to Cleaning Blueland is a company dedicated to producing cleaning products with sustainability at their core. They opt for eco-friendly ingredients and actively avoid single-use plastics.
The brand’s inception can be credited to its founder, Sarah Paiji Yoo. Her journey towards sustainability began after becoming a mother. She was appalled to discover how disposable plastics were polluting our water sources, leading to the presence of countless microplastics in the very water and food she provided her child.
Blueland isn’t just a company with eco-friendly claims; it holds certifications that substantiate its green endeavors. It’s recognized as a B-Corp, practices carbon offsetting, and boasts certifications like Cradle to Cradle, Climate Neutral, and EWG verification (to name a few). The EWG, or Environmental Working Group, is an organization I frequently reference to assess the safety of ingredients in cosmetics and cleaning products. It’s worth noting, however, that only two Blueland products, the fragrance-free laundry and dishwasher tablets, have secured EWG’s nod of approval.
When I exhausted my usual Method bathroom cleaner, I turned my attention to Blueland. The brand offers concentrated tablets that activate upon adding water. This concept resonated with me. Why bother shipping water-filled products? Additionally, this method allows consumers to continually reuse the same spray bottle, eliminating the need for repetitive purchases.
